Senior Planning Director

We are on the lookout for a Senior Planning Director who will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of urban planning in London. As Senior Planning Director, you’ll be stepping into a key leadership role where you’ll lead a talented team of planners, manage complex, high-profile projects, and be instrumental in driving the success and growth of the business. You will bring your own client base, with expectations to generate billings in excess of £250k in your first year, and you’ll have the freedom to shape and lead your team while building strong relationships across the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and inspire a high-performing planning team, overseeing all aspects of their work and delivering exceptional planning services.
• Bring an established client base, leveraging these relationships to drive new business and meet growth targets.
• Oversee and deliver complex, large-scale planning projects across sectors such as residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.
• Provide expert strategic planning advice to clients and build long-lasting client relationships.
• Manage, mentor, and train junior team members, helping them to grow and succeed within the business.
• Play a crucial role in shaping the direction and growth of the planning team and the wider business.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with client expectations and regulatory requirements.  

Requirements:

• Extensive experience as a Planning Director or similar high-level role in planning consultancy.
• Established client base with proven ability to generate £250k+ in billings in the first year.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with a track record of leading teams and developing staff.
• Deep knowledge of the UK planning system, policies, and legislation.
• Excellent communication, networking, and client relationship management skills.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify new business opportunities.
