Our client is a prominent Local Authority based in Essex, and they require a degree qualified Principal / Senior Town Planner to carry out a role within their Development Management Team. Your work will focus on processing a caseload which will include complex minor and major planning applications and you will be providing expert technical advice at every stage.

As you will be dealing with complex major applications, the successful candidate will be required to pick up a caseload of applications including the discharge of conditions associated with major developments and hit the ground running with them. On a daily basis you will be liaising with colleagues, applicants and their agents, Council Members, stakeholders, senior management, and the community. You will be required to carry out site visits and meetings, along with attending and presenting at the occasional evening Planning Committee.

Recent work experience in the field is essential and at least 3 years of this must be at a Senior / Principal level dealing with complex major applications. You will need to have good communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders on a daily basis to convey complex, detailed information in a clear, concise format. You must be familiar with Uniform and Microsoft Office suite (Office 365).

The role will be offered for an initial 3 month period but could be extended beyond this. The rate offered is between £48-£50/hr Umbrella. This role is inside IR35.

Our client also offers hybrid working arrangements.
