Job Title: Senior Town Planner
Location: Wolston
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Town Planner or Planning-focused Surveyor to join an established planning team, focusing on the promotion of land through Local and Neighbourhood Plans and general planning work. This role offers flexibility, with full or part-time options available, and is based in Wolston, near Rugby.
The Opportunity
We are seeking an outstanding individual capable of working as part of a multidisciplinary team to advise a diverse range of landowning clients on promoting sites through Local and Neighbourhood Plans and submitting planning applications. The role involves collaborating closely with surveying, planning, and design teams to create opportunities for landowners through direct land promotion or by partnering with land promoters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising on land promotion in the Midlands and beyond, including submissions at all stages of Plan preparation, from call for sites to Examination.
- Conducting planning appraisals and engaging in pre-application consultations.
- Appointing and managing consultant teams.
- Preparing and submitting planning applications for various developments, from large-scale residential and commercial projects to smaller rural schemes.
- Providing advice and submissions for appeals of all types.
- Handling prior approval applications.
Experience Required:
- Experience in town planning, with experience from either the private or public sector.
- Experience in advising on a variety of planning applications, appraisals, and land promotion efforts.
- RTPI accreditation is welcomed but not required, and support can be provided to achieve this accreditation if desired.
The Team
The planning team consists of RTPI and RICS planners with experience across Local Plan, Neighbourhood Plan, and planning application projects. Team members come from both public and private sectors and work closely with colleagues from surveying, architecture, and design to deliver exceptional results for clients. This role provides the opportunity to engage directly with clients and contribute to their development goals as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team.
