Experienced Town Planner - Strategic Development & Development Management
Location: Wolston Office (Near Rugby)
The Company:
Penguin recruitment is delighted to be supporting an independent Property Consultancy with over 230 years of history and are seeking an experienced Town Planner or planning-focused Surveyor to join an established planning team. You will be working on the promotion of land through Local and Neighbourhood Plans, alongside general planning work. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and multidisciplinary team focused on delivering high-value outcomes for our clients.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an exceptional individual with the skills to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. The role involves advising a wide variety of landowning clients on site promotion through Local and Neighbourhood Plans, and the preparation and submission of planning applications. You will work closely with the surveying, planning, and design teams to identify and create opportunities for the clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advising on land promotion in the Midlands and beyond, including submitting representations at all stages of Plan preparation.
- Conducting planning appraisals.
- Engaging in pre-application processes.
- Appointing and managing consultant teams.
- Preparing and submitting planning applications for various developments, from large-scale residential and commercial schemes to smaller rural projects.
- Advising on and submitting appeals, including prior approval applications.
Experience & Qualifications
We seek an experienced Town Planner or planning-focused Surveyor with at least 5+ years of experience. While RTPI accreditation is not mandatory, it is preferred, and we offer support for obtaining this accreditation if desired. Candidates from a surveying background should be RICS qualified with substantial planning experience. The job title and project complexity will reflect the experience of the successful candidate.
What We Offer
- Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
- Generous holiday allowance.
- Discretionary bonus package.
- Coverage of professional subscriptions and approved CPD costs.
- Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.
