Planning - Shaping Tomorrow's Communities Today

We’re embarking on an exciting transformation journey, and we want two passionate Senior Planning Officers to join us.

Our Planning Service is at the heart of shaping Wiltshire's growth and development. We ensure every decision we make promotes high-quality place-shaping, guided by robust policies and best practices in urban design. As a statutory and regulatory service, we play a pivotal role in guiding plan-led development, underpinned by robust monitoring and evidence.

Last year, we began an ambitious transformation with a £1 million investment in new staff to elevate our services. This is your chance to be part of something big. Our Strategic Planning Service handles exciting projects like reviewing the Local Plan, preparing our Minerals and Waste plans, managing planning applications for minerals and waste, helping communities create Neighbourhood Plans and tracking the success of our development plans.

As a Senior Planning Officer, you will provide a significant contribution towards the preparation, monitoring and review of Development Plan Documents, such as the emerging Local Plan, Minerals and Waste Plans and providing support for neighbourhood planning, working with stakeholders to deliver sustainable development.

The role will also offer opportunities to mentor and develop junior colleagues to shape the next generation of planners. Ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Wiltshire’s communities and future landscape.
