Due to a retirement and an internal promotion, we have two vacancies for planning officers in our Development Management Service. These exciting opportunities are within our District-Wide Team. If you are looking to make a difference, help to tackle climate change and protect all things ecological, then apply now! You could be a:
School leaver (A Level BCC or BTECT – see JD). At this entry level grade, you will be eligible for, and willing to work towards a planning degree on day release (we pay the fees).
Graduate, with a relevant Degree and we will support your learning, development and progression through Master Planning qualification (we pay the fees), Or
Qualified Planning Officer with some or no post qualification experience. We will support you with a professional learning and development plan to ensure you get the most out of this opportunity. The caseload will be interesting and varied as the district has a wide range of potential development opportunities including residential, listed buildings, and commercial – including an International Airport. The more experienced you are, the more the workload will vary and the more experience you will gain.
You will be self-motivated, analytical and a great communicator. The role involves mostly home-based, with some time in-office and on site. You will therefore need to be able to travel around the district.
