Job Details

We have an ambitious development agenda and are looking to expand our Development Management team to help deliver it.

Ranked in the Sunday Times as one of the best places to live in the UK, and in Lonely Planet as one of the best places to visit in the world, Folkestone & Hythe is a dynamic and innovative place to live, work and visit.

Based in our offices in the heart of Folkestone, you’ll have easy access to transport links including HS1, Folkestone’s regenerated town centre, the seafront and old town creative quarter, and our extraordinary and vibrant landscapes and communities.

Recognised by Best Companies as an outstanding organisation to work for, we have a real focus on supporting career development, wellbeing and family friendly initiatives, and a hybrid agile working culture that enables flexible and remote/home working.
You can also expect an excellent benefits package that includes corporate membership, discount and salary sacrifice schemes, reimbursement of professional membership fees, up to 31 days holiday and Christmas closure, access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, and much, much more.
We’ll even support you with a relocation package to move to the area. There has never been a better time to make the move to Folkestone & Hythe.

About You

Working in our Strategic Sites team you will deal with large applications, including those related to Otterpool and the regeneration of the seafront.  This is an excellent opportunity for a planner looking to widen their knowledge and experience working on strategic projects and who is ready to take their career to the next stage.

You will need to have in-depth technical knowledge and experience of dealing with a wide range of planning and related applications, including major applications, in either the public or private sectors.
But above all else, if you’re proactive, up for the challenge of being part of a delivery focused team, and as passionate about good urban design as we are, then we want to hear from you!

Take your Planning career to the next stage at Folkestone & Hythe

With a great place to live and work, there has never been a better time to make the move to Folkestone & Hythe.

26 miles of coastline ranging from sandy beaches to Britain’s only desert at Dungeness, it's an extraordinary place offering peace and tranquillity for those who seek it alongside an exciting buzz of creativity.

We have an exciting and ambitious development agenda. Potential career highlights could be working on the development of Otterpool Park - a 10,000-home garden town, supporting delivery of a £19.7m Levelling Up Fund scheme in Folkestone town centre or helping to create new, affordable homes on a brownfield site.

Just 55 minutes from London by high-speed rail link, with house prices that remain attractive to those moving from elsewhere, an impressive range of schools and an organisation Best Companies rated as outstanding, you won't regret making the move to Folkestone & Hythe.
