Job Details

We are partnered with a highly regarded national planning and development practice to further accelerate the growth of their Edinburgh planning division.

This is a modern business that puts their people first so expect unrivalled perks from enhanced maternity / paternity leave to annual ski trips, wine tasting events and more. The planning division have an excellent track record and are working across a real variety of sectors from mixed use, residential development, industrial and commercial to strategic land so this is a great opportunity to diversify your portfolio, expand your client network and play a key role within an expanding team.

This is a rare opportunity to develop with a close-knit team supported by a large well-established organisation, allowing you to take greater ownership of your projects with guidance from an experienced leadership team. The role also offers the freedom to operate on a flexible basis, in a non-corporate environment with an energetic team that is currently managing some major projects across Scotland.

Your responsibilities will include (depending on level):

·Manage planning applications through the development process.

·Write the detail on reports and planning documents or manage juniors in doing so.

·Meeting clients and liaising with key stakeholders.

·Appraising potential sites for clients and doing pre-application meetings and work.

·Keeping up to date with changes in planning policy.

·Doing business development at the more senior level, and mentoring junior team members.

Ideally you will:

·Be MRTPI or equivalent.

·Have at least three years industry experience, in consultancy, client side or in a local authority.

·Strong commercial understanding across the wider sector including planning.

·Be an excellent communicator with good technical and writing skills.

This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to an enviable client roster, diversify your project portfolio and progress towards a leadership position whilst enjoying the perks of a modern organisation in central Edinburgh.

Please apply here or give me (Tom) a call on 0207 478 2519 to discuss. My client is looking to find the right candidate as soon as possible - so if in doubt, do get in touch. I also have other clients and roles that may be of interest.

If you do not hear anything back within one week, please assume that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion, but I will retain your details for future roles.
