Senior Policy Planner

An exceptional opportunity has emerged for the role of Senior Policy Officer within a Local Authority in East Anglia.

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in the development and advancement of Local Plan documents, as well as in conducting economic surveys related to the 5-year housing plan. Furthermore, you will engage in public consultation activities involving various social groups to enhance the neighborhood plan.

Key responsibilities will encompass:

• Orchestrating extensive consultation initiatives to develop the neighborhood plan
•  Assisting in the preparation of Local Plan documents
• Collaborating with and overseeing external consultants tasked with delivering various policy studies 
• Crafting development briefs
• Evaluating neighborhood plans
• Compiling foundational data to support Local Plan documents 
• Conducting Local Plan reviews by assessing existing policy documents and creating necessary amendments and updates 
• Drafting Local Plan policy documents and associated DPD's and SPD's
• This opportunity offers involvement in a diverse policy program, providing exposure to various thematic policy areas.

Successful candidates should hold a degree in Town & Country Planning or a related field and possess practical experience as a Senior Policy Planner or Policy Officer, particularly in the preparation of Local and neighborhood plans.
