Inclusive salary range from £26,564 up to £28,863 annual salary + up to 18.5% employer pension contribution

St Albans City and District Council’s Spatial Planning & Design Team is growing significantly, supported by new additional funding from the Council. The team is expanding from 5 to 8 Policy specialists to help us drive forward the Local Plan and cement cross-boundary relations with adjoining Councils. With advice, support and financial investment from the Department of Levelling Up Housing and Communities and Homes England in our cross-boundary working on the South West Herts Joint Strategic Plan and potential major growth at Hemel Garden Communities, now is an excellent time for positive, enthusiastic and forward thinking candidates to join the team.

You will assist in the delivery of a Development Plan making service to offer a seamless spatial planning service. You will be required to have a keen eye for detail as you will be researching, analysing and interpreting data.

You must be an enthusiastic team player with skilled administrative expertise. With excellent communication skills and the ability to work to strict deadlines, you must be capable of working in a pressurised environment. A proven professional attitude, a commitment to excellent customer service and a flexible approach to work is also essential.

Educated to A level standard, including English Language and Mathematics GCSE, or equivalent qualification, you will have a working knowledge of the MS Office suite together with an aptitude for using a variety of software packages, including GIS.
