Planner/Senior Planner (Woking/Crawley)

Role: Planner/Senior Planner
Location: Crawley/Woking
Salary: £35,000 to £45,000~

A national property adviser with ten offices based throughout the North, Midlands and South of England. Our Planning team are looking to recruit Planners or Senior Planners. one to work from our Crawley office and the other from our Woking office.

These roles would find you placed within a multi-disciplined environment where you would also learn and benefit from a range of property-related services.
 

• Managing own case load of planning projects (pre-application discussions, applications and appeals)
• Support senior members of the team on large projects across our office network
• Undertaking business development and networking
• Contributing to bids and pitches
• Liaising with clients to update them on project progress
• Working with other disciplines within Vail Williams as required (i.e. Development team)
• Maintaining up to date knowledge of the planning system and region-specific local plan position
• Drafting planning statements, appeal statements, and other supporting documents
• Promoting sites through Local Plans / Neighbourhood Plans
• Project management of external consultants / project teams
• Client liaison

Skills & Experience

• At least 1 year’s planning experience (public or private sector) across the South
• Relevant degree or related qualification
• Chartered Member of RTPI / RICS desirable but not essential
• Self-motivated team player with ability to take ownership of own workload
• Excellent project and time management skills
• Appetite to influence the development and direction of your career
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Cross-sector knowledge / experience (or specialisms considered)
• Good knowledge of planning system
