Town Planner
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to present a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious Town Planner to join a family run Town and Country Planning Consultancy in Preston.
My clients' expanding team is seeking the addition of an enthusiastic and ambitious Planner to join them in working on nationwide projects in the Residential, Commercial, Retail, Mixed-use, Leisure, and Healthcare sectors. You will work to offer the full suit of planning services which includes planning applications, appeals, and objections, submission for representations for strategic land, Sector 106 negotiation, and judicial reviews.
You will typically have a varied project workload including strategic residential, town centre regeneration and large-scale commercial, retail, and industrial work.
Responsibilities
- Preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals and pre-application enquiries.
- Undertaking regular community engagement, committee meetings and public examinations.
- Conducting research and undertaking planning appraisals to establish the development of potential of sites.
- Researching and designing planning policies to guide development.
- Writing high quality reports with recommendations.
- Communicating with all stakeholders involved in the planning process.
- Attending site visits and client meetings.
Candidate Requirements
You will be expected to show your enthusiasm for developing your planning knowledge and show an eagerness and willingness to assist on all planning matters for a range of projects.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including report writing skills.
- Evidence of excellent management and leadership, with ability to think and work strategically.
- Competent with Microsoft office.
- Strong client liaison.
- Ability to analyse complex plans and data.
- Clear understanding of the UK planning process.
- A relevant degree in Planning.
- Achieved RTPI accreditation or be committed to achieving RTPI accreditation.
- Ideally 2 years' experience in a planning role.
