Senior Planner role (Clientside Developer) - London

Osborne Richardson is delighted to be working with an award-winning property developer, based in Central London. This is an excellent opportunity for a chartered Planner to join a friendly team, collaborating with the in-house design consultants and community stakeholders – to obtain planning permissions for iconic developments that benefit local communities, are design-led, and sustainable.

The Role

The role involves working alongside the senior management team to initially set project objectives and then manage projects through the planning process. You will also support the Land team on planning matters for opportunities in the company’s growing land pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and maintaining project appraisals, budgets and programmes
• Briefing, appointing and managing a team of professional consultants
• Reviewing and interpreting planning policies for specific sites
• Liaising with architects to develop and review schemes that are commercially viable
• Working closely with colleagues from Land, Delivery, Product and Sales to ensure schemes are designed holistically and within budget
• Quarterly reporting to the board of directors and project partners for sites in planning phase of delivery
• Work on all stages of multiple development projects, from planning to completion

Qualifications

• Minimum three years relevant experience in the UK planning / development field
• Commercial awareness and ability to assess the financial viability of projects
• Project and people management skills
• Intermediate user of Microsoft packages including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams

Role Specifics

• Undertake initial planning appraisals and due diligence for sites at the pre-bid stage to support land acquisition
• Project manage several sites/schemes from acquisition to planning permission and technical delivery/construction
• Prepare and deliver planning programmes for all projects
• Control and manage planning budgets
• Build strong and long term relationships with a variety of parties and stakeholders
