About Our Client

Our client is an organisation that protects, enhances and promotes the immense beauty, wildlife and character of Yorkshire.
 

Our client is now looking for a Local Plan Project Officer to join them on a fixed-term basis, until 28th July 2024, working 30 hours per week from their Bainbridge office near Leyburn, with the potential for some regular home-working.

The Role

As a Local Plan Project Officer, you will join our client’s small Local Planning Team and work to prepare a new Local Plan.


Your work will involve research and consultation on policy approaches towards biodiversity net gain, climate change, economic development and transport.

 

Additionally, you will engage effectively with consultees and stakeholders, summarise the responses and report on the outcomes of consultation.

 

About You
 

To be considered as a Local Plan Project Officer, you will need:

 

- To be educated to at least degree level in an environmental or development-related subject

- An understanding and appreciation of the rural environment

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- The ability to act with political sensitivity and awareness when handling difficult issues

- A commitment to genuine sustainable development and positive rural planning

- A full, valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle with appropriate insurance
