A forward-thinking and innovative consultancy is now looking for ambitious professionals to join their company (any office) as they continue creating places people want to be a part of. The organisation has offices all across the UK and are looking to recruit enthusiastic team players who are committed to delivering customer excellence for their clients - and are passionate about delivering trusted and actionable planning advice.

The company is looking for people who can secure planning permission for infrastructure projects; who demonstrate a proven ability to deliver to a high standard; have the passion to share their knowledge, and a willingness to learn and drive forward the on-going success of the team. You will also be involved in steering the strategic direction of the team.

You will be responsible for managing your own projects or specific aspects of them, including liaison with clients and local planning authorities; third parties; other consultants and community stakeholders.

Role specifics:

  • Day to day running of a range of planning projects, including providing advice on town planning related matters (with Director support as necessary). Client liaison and representation of the company in client meetings and external meetings with local planning authorities and other stakeholders. Liaison with the public in connection with projects and consultation events. Continual professional development relating directly to projects and development of wider planning knowledge commensurate with role and experience. Maintaining and developing technical knowledge and securing a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of infrastructure planning.

Role requirements:

 

  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent). Good understanding of relevant consent regimes – for example, DCO, Hybrid Bill, TWAO and TCPA. Good understanding of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) from a town planning perspective. Excellent and focused report writing skills. Ability to develop arguments and to identify key concepts and contribute to strategy development. Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrable capabilities of working within a professional team. Excellent project management skills and an appreciation of the commercial context of working in a busy consultancy. Ability to work in a team and individually.
