Head of Development Management & Compliance

Penrhyndeudraeth (with potential to work part of the week from home)

About Our Client

Our client protects the natural beauty, wildlife and cultural heritage of one of Wales’ most visited natural spaces. Covering 823 miles of diverse landscape, the area is home to over 26,000 people, the highest mountain in Wales and England and the largest natural lake in Wales.

They are now looking for a Head of Development Management & Compliance to join their dedicated team.

The Benefits

- Salary of £40,578 – £44,624 DOE
- A chance to work in an area of outstanding natural beauty

The Role

As the Head of Development Management & Compliance, you will ensure our client delivers a robust planning service.

The department you oversee will deal with approximately 350-500 planning applications each year, as well as associated smaller enquiries and applications. You will deal with regulatory issues including Listed Building Consent, Conservation Area Appraisals and Consents and many other issues required by planning policy and legislation.

Managing and supporting the entire team to achieve their targets, you will track ongoing planning enforcement cases, placing landscape, nature and cultural heritage issues at the heart of any matter.

As this is a frontline service in regular contact with members of the public, you will oversee the development of a fully bilingual service.

About You

To be considered as the Head of Development Management & Compliance, you will need:

- The ability to communicate in Welsh and English
- At least three years’ experience at a senior level in dealing with development management or compliance issues
- Full corporate membership of RTPI
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
- A valid driving licence and use of a car

Senior level experience of Development Management and Compliance issues would be advantageous, as would experience of planning in designated conservation areas.

Experience of working in a rural context would also be beneficial.

Other organisations may call this role Head of Development, Head of Planning and Development, or Senior Development Officer.

So, if you are eager to provide an outstanding planning service as the Head of Development Management & Compliance, please apply via the button shown. This vacancy is being advertised by Webrecruit. The services advertised by Webrecruit are those of an Employment Agency.
