You will need to demonstrate detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation relating to Planning Enforcement under the Town and Country Planning Act, including dealing with associated appeals and prosecutions.

You will need to have excellent communication skills as you will be dealing with the general public and you will need to be confident in your ability to deal with difficult situations to convey complex, detailed information.

You will need to manage your own workload to meet targets, working in the office and on site, as well as manage others in the team.

You will need to assist in the preparation and delivery of formal and informal reports to all levels of management, including recommendations for appropriate action.

The potential to demonstrate that you could deal with planning applications that have been submitted as a result of enforcement intervention would be desirable.

You will need an appropriate qualification and post qualifying experience; or evidence of the equivalent level of knowledge gained through work experience. Please refer to the job profiles attached for further information in this respect. Being a member of the National Association of Planning Enforcement (NAPE) would be desirable.

The ability to use a range of computer applications and ICT is essential to this role.

Based in our modern offices in the heart of Rotherham, with easy access to the Sheffield City Region, we offer a competitive salary, generous annual leave entitlement and access to an occupational pension scheme.

We know you must juggle work and life commitments and we will discuss the right mix for you, including compressed hours and the potential to work from home, and we are committed to flexible working patterns in our established team.
