Head of Development Management

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in Somerset in their search for a Development Management Service Manager to join their Planning Team on a permanent basis.
 
You will be tasked with
 
·Providing proactive leadership and management of the Development Management Service (including Planning Enforcement) ensuring decisions are made within the relevant legislative framework and within agreed timescales and targets.
 
·Deputising for the Assistant Director Strategic Place and Planning when required. 
 
·Leading and promoting innovation, efficiency and customer focus in service delivery and income generation and to proactively respond to addressing changes in the national planning system or arising from local government reorganization.
 
The salary on this role is up to £55k depending on experience. Hybrid working, although an office presence is needed 3 days a week. My client would consider someone that wanted to work 4 days, but can't go lower than that.
