The Role

We are investing in our Planning Enforcement Team and have just moved through a proactive reorganisation. As such there is now an exciting opportunity to work in this team as part of the Development Management service.

The work we have is diverse, exciting and challenging and you will be working with a friendly team that is dedicated, positive and focussed on quality and high performance.

You will be part of a team of officers at various professional grades and experience (including administrative support), providing professional advice to others in this critical service function of investigating and enforcing against breaches of planning and related legislation.

The District

Located in north Nottinghamshire between Nottingham to the south and Sheffield to the north, Bassetlaw is a predominantly rural district of circa 116,000 residents with much heritage, great connectivity and a strong growth agenda. It is a popular place to live and visit with relatively low house prices, good schools, beautiful parks, an attractive environment and an outstanding community spirit which makes a move to any one of our four market towns a very positive investment into your future.

Whilst the service is primarily based in Queens Buildings in Worksop, we operate a hybrid approach whereby you may be required to work in the office and/or from home and obviously spend much time out and about on site, as determined by service requirements.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate an understanding of planning legislation. You have already gained some experience of working in a planning role, whether that be as a planner or a planning enforcement officer and you are looking to build on that experience or widen your skillset. We’ll support you in having that holistic overview of this statutory service. Although not essential, the ideal person for this role will also hold a planning qualification.

You’ll be able to show us that you have a high degree of written and oral skills and can build relationships with everyone you are likely to come across in this role. You can demonstrate that you can work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Further Information

If you have any questions you can call John Krawczyk, Planning Development Manager on (01909) 533533 or email (john.krawczyk@bassetlaw.gov.uk). We have a welcoming and friendly team so if you think this role could be for you we would love to hear from you.

.

We will value your contributions, give you access to a free healthcare cash plan and benefits, offer a very generous 25-31 days holiday package (rising incrementally each year and exclusive of public bank holidays) and give you the option to purchase additional annual leave days tax-free. We will double your monthly pension contributions and provide the option to join our shared cost AVC scheme, offer discounted car parking of around £4 per month, and family friendly policies.

Full details can be found in the job description and person specification.  To apply, please visit www.bassetlaw.gov.uk/jobs-and-careers or telephone the HR Team on (01909) 533121. Please quote REG1168P on the application form and within all correspondence.
