We are investing in our Planning Enforcement Team and have just moved through a proactive reorganisation. As such there is now an exciting opportunity to lead this team as part of the Development Management service.
The work we have is diverse, exciting and challenging and you will be working with a friendly team that is dedicated, positive and focussed on quality and high performance.
You will lead a team of officers at various professional grades and experience (including administrative support), providing professional advice to others in this critical service function of investigating and enforcing against breaches of planning and related legislation.

Whilst the service is primarily based in Queens Buildings in Worksop, we operate a hybrid approach whereby you may be required to work in the office and/or from home and obviously spend much time out and about on site, as determined by service requirements.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a good knowledge of planning legislation and policy at a local and national level. This job would ideally suit someone who has worked as a planner or a planning enforcement officer in Development Management for some time and is looking to progress their career and we’ll support you in achieving that transition. The ideal person for this role will hold a planning qualification be in receipt of or working towards RTPI or equivalent accreditation through training.
You’ll be able to show us that you have the ability to work under your own initiative making decisions on complex enforcement and other matters, as well as the ability to meet tight deadlines as set out in the recently approved ‘Enforcement Protocol’ and other corporate indicators. Integrity and great communication skills are key as our Members will rely on you to make Bassetlaw a better place.
