Job Details
Penguin Recruitment has partnered with a national Environmental Consultancy to assist in the hiring of an Assistant Town Planner for their team in Edinburgh.
Join a team of 11 (with plans to double their size in 12 months!) that provides professional services in four main areas: Planning, Landscape, EIA and Graphics. Our client forms part of a larger group of companies, meaning you will benefit from a large multidisciplinary's reach and resources, but retain the brand, culture and company values of the smaller company.
From a planning perspective, projects can be small-scale applications, major development proposals or even nationally significant infrastructure projects! These projects can fall into multiple areas such as energy, minerals, waste, infrastructure, residential, commercial property, rural development and tourism.
In this role, the successful candidate will help prepare and submit planning applications for a wide variety of sectors including renewable energy (onshore wind and solar), minerals & waste, Infrastructure, and built development (residential and commercial property).
To be considered, you will hold relevant planning qualifications and 1-2+ years of planning experience (public or private sector experience welcome). You will ideally have experience in renewables but candidates holding experience in other above-listed areas are also welcome to apply. You will be a team player but able to self-motivate and complete work in a timely manner to deadlines.
On offer is a strong starting salary and benefits package (further details available upon request). On top of being rewarded well for doing a job you love, you will also be supported and invested in to help you go on and reach any career objectives you hold!
You will work with a balanced, experienced and likable team, on a range of genuinely interesting projects that will both stretch and satisfy you!
