Permanent – Full Time

Salary: £59043-£62275/ Grade P

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Planner with effective and strong leadership skills to support the Director of City Development and work collaboratively across City Development, motivating staff to deliver Exeter’s ambitions.  You will need a strong track record in managing high performing teams, experience of working preferably in an urban context and specialising in Development Management.

Principal Project Manager – Development Management (x2)

Permanent – Full Time

Salary: £39571-£41591 / Grade K

You will be a planner with experience in development management, preferably in major developments. You will be passionate about delivering high quality developments and enthusiastic about working with developers and other stakeholders to achieve the best solutions for sites across the city. The developments you will deal with are the most significant and will contribute to the highest quality environment.

Principal Project Manager – Cil & S106

Permanent – Full Time

Salary: £39571-£41591 / Grade K

You will have experience in local government or the private sector in planning or a related work area. Recent and detailed experience of Community Infrastructure Levy legislation, collection and spending processes, and Section 106 Agreements is essential. You will have demonstrable experience of successfully leading and managing projects and staff.

Principal Officer – Ecology & Biodiversity

Permanent – Part Time (22.2 hours per week)

Salary:  £39571-£41591 (Grade K) pro rata

You will be passionate about delivering environmental enhancement, ensuring that quality habitats and biodiversity are properly taken into account in schemes. You will be adept at interpreting plans and analysing reports, and working with other professionals and stakeholders, including giving advice to developers. You will have a degree or other recognised qualification relating to ecology and biodiversity and ideally be a member of CIEEM.

Principal Officer – Urban Design and Landscape

Permanent – Full Time

Salary: £39571-£41591 / Grade K

You will have substantial post-qualification in urban design and/or landscape work. You will have been involved in delivering good placemaking or environmental enhancement schemes, and can demonstrate how you contributed. You will have good project management skills, and be able to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences. Most importantly you will know what good development looks like and you are passionate about achieving it.

Salary: £25419 - £27514pa Grade G plus market supplement of £5284pa

We are looking for Planning graduates or somebody keen to extend their skills by working in a delivery focused team. Previous Development Management experience and up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation are desirable, but we will consider applicants without this as a ‘can-do’ attitude is the quality we most value.
