Planning Officer

I am currently working on a superb opportunity for a LPA based in the South West of England who are looking for for an experienced Planning Officer.

This authority will provide you with an interesting and diverse caseload of planning applications in urban, greenbelt, conservation areas consisting of minor, complex and small scale major applications.

You will be assigned to manage and process a broad and varied caseload of backlog applications comprised of residential, commercial, change of use, mixed use, householders, leisure, infill development and listing building consents.

 Duties Include;

• Manage and process a mixed caseload of minor, complex medium and small scale major application consisting of residential led mixed use, new build flats, single dwellings, commercial / retail schemes, listed building consents, infill housing, and certificates of lawful development etc.
• Conduct site visits
• Undertake pre-application meetings and site visits
• Negotiate S106 agreements, discharge of conditions and finalise reserve matters.
• Duty Planning
• Mentor junior members of staff
• Attend consultation events

You must have acquired practical experience in Development Management processing a mixed caseload of minor to complex medium applications.

In addition, you must have a degree in Town & Country Planning or an affiliated subject with good communication and report writing skills.
