Senior Policy Officer

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the Midlands in the search for a Planning Officer to join their Policy team in the Town Planning department on a rolling 3 month contract basis.

We are looking for an experienced officer to come in and hit the ground running in the preparation of the councils new local plan. The candidate will need to have had experience of planning policy; have good interpersonal skills; enjoy engaging with members of the public; and be able to work flexibly.

Duties will include, but not limited to:

• Preparation of the statement of consultation for regulation 18A issues and options new local plan
• Assisting in the production and project managing of evidence base for the new local plan
• Assisting in the production of the regulation 18A preferred options document

The council operate under a hybrid working arrangement with a mix between home and office working.
Access to a car would be preferable but not essential. It would be beneficial to hold a Post-graduate degree in planning, regeneration or a related discipline, and have the eligibility for membership of RTPI.

The council are looking for sociable candidates with good people skills.
