(Development Management)

Salary: Grade 7 (SCP 16-22) - £24,432 - £27,514 per annum

Hours of work are 37 per week

An opportunity has arisen to join our Development Management Team at Derbyshire Dales District Council as a Planning Officer. The District has a wealth of stunning landscapes, picturesque villages, historic buildings, over 1325 are listed buildings; conservation areas; archaeological sites and monuments and historic parks and gardens which make it one of the best places in Britain to live, work and visit. The post would suit someone that has recently qualified, is new to the profession or simply enjoys processing and making recommendations on a wide range of planning applications, with a focus mainly on prior notification, minor and other planning application types.

The successful candidate must be well organised and self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure. You must have excellent communication and negotiation skills and the ability to contribute to a high quality service to our customers. We would expect the successful candidate to have a planning qualification and to be able to travel around the district to undertake site visits.

In return we can offer you the opportunity to further develop your career within an excellent authority. In addition we offer reduced leisure centre membership fees, flexitime and professional development opportunities.
