The Opportunity

As Director of Planning you will be representing the Legacy Corporation as developer, promoter and applicant by leading a small team on a range of development projects and programmes in and around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.  You will be responsible for providing strategic town planning advice and managing internal and external resource to help deliver LLDC’s long term vision for the development and regeneration of the area.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Development, you will have responsibility for delivering against key objectives and have accountability for your decisions. You will contribute to the wider leadership and management of the Development Directorate and LLDC.  This is an opportunity to bring your work and lived experience to this role and to positively contribute to the inclusive leadership and diverse and inclusive culture of the organisation.

Is it for you?

You will be an experienced built environment professional with significant experience and a proven track record of successfully managing the delivery of complex planning projects and applications for major developments, from inception, obtaining planning permission through to implementation.

You will have an excellent knowledge and understanding of key town planning, regeneration and development issues and policies and will have up-to-date knowledge and experience of the UK town planning system, preferably in a London context.  You will be commercially aware with demonstrable experience and an understanding of commercial considerations relating to property development and infrastructure delivery.

You enjoy working in a matrix environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team.  You are politically astute, have demonstrable experience of managing complex multiple stakeholder arrangements, influencing both internal and external partners and balancing competing priorities to optimise project outcomes.

You will have senior leadership experience with strong and demonstrable inclusive leadership skills.  You will have a clear understanding of the needs of diverse communities and the role social value in developments can play in supporting those communities, ensuring that inclusion and equality are considered at all project stages. You will be able to demonstrate proactive and authentic responsibility for inclusion and diversity through your lived and/or worked experience.

If this all sounds good to you, we’d love to hear from you!
