Job Details
Salary: £24,121- £38,205 (plus an Essential Car User Allowance of up to £1,239 and a Market Related Payment)
This is a hands-on role where you will have the opportunity to shape and progress the Local Plan through to examination and adoption, and develop your skills in evidence gathering, policy writing and consultation.
Crucially you will be a team player, have a ‘can do’ attitude, contribute innovative ideas and be committed to achieving high quality results. In return we will support and encourage you, invest in you, and help you to realise your potential.
Whilst only half an hour from central London by train Sevenoaks District has diverse urban/rural issues. For example, you can help develop policy for Gypsy and Traveller sites, design and heritage and employment land. There are areas of affluence as well as pockets of deprivation with the District. Development pressures are the highest they’ve ever been and a key challenge for planners is to balance the District’s housing and economic needs with the protection of the Green Belt.
There is plenty going on for a creative and driven individual wishing to gain extensive Planning Policy experience in a busy, friendly and customer-focused environment. We put customer service at the heart of everything we do.
Uniquely the Council is financially self-sufficient, has earned Platinum Investors in People and was LGC Council of the Year 2017.
For an informal discussion regarding this opportunity please contact Hannah Gooden – Planning Policy Team Leader on 01732 227000 or by email to Hannah.gooden@sevenoaks.gov.uk.
Our staff benefits package includes: flexible annual leave & working arrangements, discounted membership of Sencio's Leisure Centres, excellent training & development opportunities and car parking
Closing Date: 8th June 2022
