Are you looking for a new challenge and to advance your planning career?
David Lock Associates is recruiting graduate and MRTPI chartered planners to join our dynamic and growing planning team. We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced individuals who are passionate about creating great places.
Whether you are a graduate looking for your first post, or a planner with experience in either the private or public sector, you will be motivated by the opportunity to shape, secure and deliver new development, and will relish the chance to apply your creative thinking and breadth of skills to deliver great outcomes for our wide range of projects and clients. You will be working alongside our exceptional urban design, mapping and graphic communications teams.
We are looking for planners with around 5 to 12 years’ experience, with demonstrable skills within the following areas, in particular: shaping promotion strategies for development projects; leading policy and plan-making activity; co-ordinating the preparation and negotiation of large-scale and complex mixed use, residential and/or commercial planning applications; and working with design teams to put development on the ground.
For our graduates, we offer excellent mentoring and support for your journey towards accreditation, with a dedicated APC Mentor assigned to work with you as you assemble and submit your RTPI application, whilst ensuring you also receive mentoring on projects and consultancy skills.
If you are interested in working on a variety of interesting projects, for some of the most forward thinking and respected players in the development industry, then why not join us?
What’s on offer
We provide opportunities for talented people to achieve great things in an inclusive and mutually-supportive environment, with excellent internal mentoring support and opportunities for career progression. We employ people who like to be stretched and work collaboratively. Our low staff turnover is a good indicator of the potential to grow a fulfilling and stimulating career here, whilst building rewarding professional relationships and lasting friendships.
In return, we offer competitive salaries, generous pension contributions, annual profit share, up to 30 days annual leave, a cycle to work scheme, mobility allowance, a medical insurance scheme and many other benefits. Our business is 100% owned by an Employee Benefit Trust on behalf of our employees, which means we are motivated to work hard and share in the rewards of our work. We are an inclusive organisation and accommodate a wide range of flexible working arrangements.
