Our client currently has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Development Management. They are looking for a highly motivated, customer-focused manager with a passion for place making to lead their Planning Team and help deliver continuous improvement.

Our client is based in one of the UK’s finest landscapes with a unique heritage and culture offering a fantastic place to live and work. You will play a key role in creating a vibrant and sustainable future for the area and its communities, helping protect and enhance the immense beauty and character of the area.

You will be a professional planner with substantial development management experience including a track record of dealing with complex applications and appeals, a thorough knowledge of planning legislation and procedures as well as significant people management experience. Excellent communications and negotiation skills are a must as well as being an effective team player.  

At the same time, you’ll have the opportunity to work across the organisation and with external partners to support the delivery of our client’s Management Plan and to get involved in a wide range of related projects. The role will require you to provide expert advice to the team, internal and external customers and Members. You’ll need to be open and collaborative and have a passion for empowering others and developing service delivery and individuals.
