The opportunity
We are looking for a pro-active Planning Officer to join our Development Management Team. The post holder will be based within an Area Planning Team and act as a Senior Planning Enforcement Officer. Planning Enforcement is integral to maintaining public confidence in the planning system. This is a hugely varied and exciting role where you will be responsible for managing a caseload of the most sensitive and complex enforcement investigations, leading on specialised enforcement initiatives, offering support to junior staff, defending the Council at appeal and initiating prosecution proceedings.
About you
We are looking for someone with extensive enforcement experience who has the ability to bring new ideas and help to improve and streamline the enforcement service. You should have an exceptional approach to partnership working and customer service. Some line management experience would be desirable.
Membership, or eligibility for membership, of the RTPI or an appropriate professional institute is essential. For more information on the role or an informal discussion, please contact either:
