Graduate Town Planner
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to present a fantastic opportunity for a driven and enthusiastic Graduate Planner to join an award-winning Planning Consultancy on the Southampton!
My client is currently looking to recruit a talented and ambitious Graduate to their close-knit and dynamic team of Chartered Planners and Consultants.
The Company
My client's aim is to provide their clients with the best guidance and advice to navigate through the complex planning system to achieve optimum development value and returns, whilst also ensuring that development make a positive contribution in its context.
The practice is well established and has been in operation for over 20 years. It has gained a reputation for delivery from the onset of the planning processes, covering a wide range of large-scale schemes that include residential, commercial, industrial and hospitality sectors.
Their body of clients include national, regional, and local housebuilders, as well as a variety of Local Planning Authorities, hotel and care operators, and commercial property investment organisations in addition to homeowners and local businesses.
Duties of the role
As part of the dynamic team you will assist the senior members of the team in the following:
- Providing clients with strategic advice on proposals.
- Preparation and coordination of applications for planning consent, prior notification, and lawful development. You would support Directors on larger scale applications and take the lead role on other applications, with Director support.
- Preparation of pre-application enquiries.
- Assist in determination of planning applications for public sector clients.
- Stakeholder engagement and management of the consultation process.
- Preparation of planning policy and supporting documents.
- Providing planning input to masterplannning projects and site promotion documents.
- Appeal services.
Candidate requirements
- RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or relevant field of study.
- Ability to work from own initiative as well as collaboratively.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to be 'client-facing'.
