TOWN PLANNER
An exciting opportunity has presented itself for a talented and ambitious Town Planner to join a multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy that is currently working on some of the most prestigious projects in the country!
My client's busy Planning team works collaboratively to create an effective planning application for their client's projects. The team offer a full host of planning services from planning feasibility, design and access statements and planning appeals, to site promotion, EIA's, discharge conditions and prior approval.
Duties of the role will include the following…
- Promote projects with minimum supervision, acting as project manager as appropriate.
- To assist in the provision of planning services.
- Develop client relationship by providing advice upon strategy and progress of projects.
- To undertake site survey and analysis work, and to research relevant planning history associated with commissions.
- Evaluate development proposals having regard to the provisions of the Local District Plan policy and National Planning Policy guidance.
- To prepare planning, and other, application submissions for development projects including pre-application meetings / submissions with Officers of Local Planning Authorities and co-ordinating other professionals involved in the project.
- Management and monitoring of the application through the Local Planning Authority development control process in accordance with QMS procedures.
- To prepare reports, plans, illustrative material, and graphic presentations.
- To assist in the preparation of planning appeals including preparation of evidence and
co-ordinating other professionals involved.
- To promote the business and to market the Company's services.
- Maintain membership of the RTPI and a programme of CPD in line with RTPI requirements.
- Provide advice and supervision to more junior staff as required.
- To undertake general office administrative duties and office housekeeping as directed.
- To undertake any other duties as reasonably requested.
Candidate requirements
We are seeking applications from talented Planner who have either achieved MRTPI status or are working towards the APC. Candidates must hold an RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or a related field of study and will have experience in either the public or private sector in working autonomously and driving a busy team!
