I am working on behalf of a Local Authority situated in the South East, assisting them in finding them two Interim Planning Officers who they require for an initial 3 month contract.
Your key responsibility will be to handle a large caseload of mixed applications, primarily consisting of everything from Householders to Minor level (1 or 2 Dwellings for instance). It will most likely involve both Urban Developments and Rural cases.
You will need to manage applications through their entire process and be able to write eloquent reports and validations. Furthermore, the successful candidate will need to be confident in providing both verbal and written advice and recommendations to members of the public, developers, and members.
The rate for the contract greatly depends on your level of experience and size of applications you can deal with, but will fall within the range of £30-£35 an hour.
