Hull City Council is looking for an enthusiastic person to oversee the highest quality of design in the built form and public realm, and to provide statutory support and technical advice on Urban Conservation through a wide range of skills and knowledge encompassing all aspects of work within the Planning service.
The successful candidate would provide advice on conservation and design issues to Development Management, other council departments and partners, and to architects, agents and the public at a high level. Prepare, amend and provide guidance on Planning Policy documents, masterplans, and development briefs dealing with design in the city. This post will have a particular focus on producing development briefs for key sites owned by the Council and other public sector organisations and contributing positively to those produced by others. It will also assist with the provision of graphics which help enhance the understanding of concepts or visions for development such as blue/green infrastructure and sustainable drainage. The post will also involve managing and mentoring two other posts within the team.
