Senior Planning Officer
South Wales
Permanent
£33,782 - £37,890 per annum
37 hours per week
We are looking to speak to experienced Planning Officers in South Wales regarding an exciting opportunity in the Development Management team of a South Wales Local Authority.
The main purpose of the role is to undertake all duties associated with the statutory Development Management service for the Authority and any associated appeals and enforcement, whilst securing quality and efficient outcomes.
Main duties include:
-Responsible for a caseload of controversial, complex and/or strategically important planning and related applications or enforcement cases.
-Attending site visits.
-Providing planning advice to the public.
-To negotiate the delivery of planning obligations
-Preparing appeal statements
-Giving attendance at hearings and public inquiries.
-Support junior Planning Officers
-To undertake other duties as may be reasonably required
About You
-You will also need excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills, and a strong commitment to customer care.
-The post requires a planning qualification to Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) standard or equivalent relevant Development Management experience.
-It is also essential that you have the ability to travel throughout the County Borough.
-Welsh language skills are not required but are desirable.
