Penguin Recruitment are delighted to be supporting an established Planning consultancy based in Manchester who is currently looking for a talented Senior Planner to join the dynamic team!
My client is a multi-discipline team with chartered members of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI), Institute of Civil Engineers (CEng MICE) and Landscape Institute (CMLI).
The team has a proven track
-record of negotiating and designing large and small scale development on greenfield and brownfield land, both within and outside of development limits. The teams' success is achieved through land promotion, speculative planning application, appeal and Public Inquiry including where the Local Planning Authority claim a sufficient supply of allocated sites.
The Role
As a Senior Planner you will be responsible for working proactively on a range of planning applications and planning appeals with an emphasis on large-scale residential and renewable energy projects including site reviews, planning applications and appeals. You will be involved in and lead a diverse range and scale of projects but primarily be responsible for projects from the stream of large scale residential and renewable energy planning!
Candidate Requirements
My client is seeking a chartered RTPI (or working towards chartership) Planner with an accredited degree in Town Planning or related subject and significant experience in private and/or public sector planning. A suitable candidate for the role of Senior Planner will be able to demonstrate:
- A proven track record of managing caseloads for different types of planning applications ideally with an emphasis on the residential and/or renewable energy sectors.
- The ability to prepare and present high-quality planning reports.
- Experience of writing appeal statements and the appeal process.
- Proficiency in responding to general and client planning enquiries, producing tender documents, and negotiating with statutory consultees.
