Kent - Senior Planning Officer

I am working with an authority in Kent who are looking for a Senior Planning Officer on an initial 3 month rolling contract. They can offer predominantly remote-based working with one day per week needed for site visits.

They would be looking for the candidate to start immediately and the role would be working on a varied caseload mainly consisting of minors up to small majors.

Duties will include:

• Overseeing a mixed caseload of applications covering a diverse landscape (ANB, Green belt - urban and rural).
• Provision of paid pre-application advice to developers, architects and external consultants.
• Co-ordinate and independently carry out site visits and prepare detailed reports.

Candidate’s Required Experience:

• Circa 5 years of experience within Local Authorities is desirable.
• MRTPI would be beneficial, but is not essential
• Previous experience of dealing with small majors up to 15 units

Working Arrangements:

• Rate is up to £40ph – Depending on Experience
• IR35 status is inside
• Remote working available, site visits essential – weekly
