Senior Planner – Development Management:

Salary: £39,462 - £45,594 per annum (PO3 – PO4)

The Borough has a wide variety of application types to be involved in, listed buildings, commercial developments, residential, and mixed use redevelopment schemes to name a few.

As a senior planner you’ll be developing your management skills, which include signing off cases under delegated powers, mentoring and supervising junior staff in line, and assisting with performance management and reviews. You’ll have an opportunity to challenge yourself with a caseload that will include more complex applications and pre-apps and working with interdisciplinary teams on applications of strategic importance, including those aimed at delivering our own ambitious direct delivery programme and key corporate objectives. You’ll work with many different stakeholders, such as developers, residents, and elected members, and will be involved in negotiating local benefits from larger developments.

Career Grade Planner – Development Management:

Salary: £24,279 - £45,594 per annum (Scale 4 – P04)

There are 2 vacancies for this role.

As part of a wider area team with supportive mentoring and training, we will help you develop project management and planning skills. You'll handle a range of interesting developments and learn how to negotiate with a variety of applicants, consultants and residents to secure high quality schemes that contribute to place making and benefits across the community. With a range of site visits and an interesting caseload, each day will be a new challenge.
