The role is for a PPA specialist to work individually and as part of a team on large and complex planning applications through pre-app stage to issue of decision. The Borough has a wide variety of opportunity and regeneration areas offering commercial, residential, and mixed use redevelopment opportunities. As a Deputy Team Leader, through the application of high-level Development Management and supervisory skills, make a significant contribution to the regeneration of the borough through the innovative and practical development of proposals for planning permission to ensure that growth and regeneration in the borough in line with the Hammersmith & Fulham Local Plan and associated documents.
You’ll have an opportunity to challenge yourself with a PPA caseload that will comprise complex applications and pre-apps and working with interdisciplinary teams on applications of strategic importance, including those aimed at delivering our own ambitious direct delivery programme and key corporate objectives. You’ll work with many different stakeholders, such as developers, residents, and elected members, and will be involved in negotiating local benefits from larger developments.

Role Responsibilities:
- PPA specialist focussed largely on carry a challenging caseload of complex and major planning applications and pre-apps.
- The role is required to ensure delivery of key strategic projects. These include important council direct delivery schemes and those with key stakeholders.
- Leading on major pre-app/ applications for several key strategic development sites subject to planning performance agreements (PPAs) which support the delivery of significant corporate objectives in relation to affordable housing, affordable workspace, environmental improvements and s106 contributions.
- Notably, the strategic sites are progressed through pre-app and PPAs which generate income. This post would ensure the service delivery for these key projects in a timely and well managed manner as well as facilitate income generation.
- This role is critical to achieve key programme milestones.
- The role does not primarily include management responsibilities; beyond infrequent deputising for the team leader and the mentoring of more junior members of staff, including those within Development Management.
