South Derbyshire has for many years been the fastest growing district in Derbyshire and is currently one of the fastest growing areas in England aiming to deliver over 12600 new homes by 2028.

This post of Planning Technician supports the Planning Delivery team in the handling of planning applications, appeals, enquiries, and monitoring.

You will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and willing to learn whilst being able to work with minimal supervision.  You will also have excellent communication skills and be able to work to tight deadlines whilst focusing on delivering good customer service.

You will need the skills to undertake a range of technical duties in what is both a challenging and fast paced role. Duties will include validation of planning applications, coordination of discharge of conditions applications and various other duties to support the diverse range of functions within the Service.
