Planning and Development

Grade C to F: £19,753 - £31,250 per annum (depending on experience)

37 hours per week, permanent (part time applications welcome)

The Job:

Cherwell has attractive countryside lying at the northern edge of the Cotswolds. Its ironstone and limestone villages, many listed buildings and conservation areas ensure a wide variety of case work.

The Person:

Delivering high-quality development starts with securing high-quality people. If you are an enthusiastic and ambitious Planner, passionate about delivering well-planned sustainable communities, you could be what we’re looking for to lead on the processing and determination of a variety of application types. You will be expected to deal with a range of pre-applications, applications and appeals including those of a complex or controversial nature and/or corporate priority to the Council. Recognising the needs of our customers, we want individuals who embody our ambitions for a high quality, efficient and value for money development management service.

These are career graded roles and offer a great opportunity for individuals to start their planning career, or for existing planners to expand their opportunities to gain experience within a framework that supports career progression.
