Principal Major Applications Planner (100% Remote Working)

A Principal Major Applications Planner is urgently required by a prestigious of London Borough Council to  lead on the delivery of some of the borough’s most high-profile strategic development schemes.

This role will provide you with an unprecedented opportunity to deliver highly original new development through the planning system that will include a cutting-edge new Hospital to deliver revolutionary new research and treatments for cancer in conjunction with a phased strategic estate renewal scheme up to 1000 units.

As a key component of this role you will work closely with the NHS and key stakeholders such as the GLA to progress this revolutionary healthcare scheme through the planning system.

In addition, as part of the phased estate renewal scheme you will contribute to the development of Masterplans, liaise with leading house builders, review EIA’s, viability reports, and work closely with leading architects, developers and external planning consultants.

Key responsibilities include;
 

• Manage and process a caseload of large scale major and strategic applications consisting of mixed tenure estate renewals schemes
• Manage and deliver a high-profile new hospital the planning application process.
• Facilitate close liaison with major developers, architects and external consultants through paid pre-application meetings.
• Negotiate complex S106 agreements in conjunction with discharging conditions and finalising reserved matters.
• Negotiate PPA Agreements
• Draft detailed delegated reports and present at committee
• Conduct member briefings, engage with regeneration teams and consult with local community groups
• Liaise and work closely with external bodies including the GLA and TFL etc.

The successful Principal Major Applications Planner will have acquired practical experience as a Senior or Principal Planner in Development Management with proven track record processing large scale major applications through the planning system.

Applicants must have a degree in Town & Country Planning and excellent written and communication skills as well an aptitude for dealing with complex planning issues and applications.
