Senior Planner

As an experienced Senior/Principal Planning Officer within our clients Development Management team you will be required to assess a wide range of complex planning applications. On occasion you will need to carry out site visits and you will be expected to undertake consultation exercises and produce detailed written report documents that clearly lay out how planning decisions have been arrived at. On a daily basis you will be dealing with planning enquiries from agents, applicants and the general public and you will be required to give accurate pre-application advice to prospective developers. You will also be required to negotiate agreements under S.106 of the Town and Country Planning Act where appropriate to secure wider benefit from development proposals.

To apply for this role you will need a minimum of 5 years previous experience of assessing planning applications within a UK local authority. You will need a relevant town planning degree and a good working knowledge of UK planning legislation. Good communication skills and confidence are essential and you must be comfortable dealing with the general public.

This is a home working role but you can work from the office if that is your preference.

Our client is a Local Authority based in Essex and they are offering up to £37/hr inside IR35 for this role. This will initially be offered as a 6 month contract, please get in touch for further details.
