A Local Authority in Kent are looking for a Senior Enforcement Officer to assist them for an initial contract of 6 months. The role would be predominantly remote-based, apart from site visits needed once every fortnight. They would be looking for the successful candidate to work between 30 - 37 hours per week, so a condensed week is available. Pay rates are dependant on experience, but is likely to be up to £40p/h. The role is inside IR35
Responsibilities will include:
- Take on a a small case load investigating complex breaches of planning control - carrying out targeted action to take the cases forward.
- Deal with complex and controversial cases such as listed buildings, moving them on to formal enforcement action by drafting Enforcement Notices;
- Effectively communicating and dealing with multiple parties at one time, working with Environmental protection, Building Control and others as appropriate.
It would be beneficial if you had previous Local Authority experience in a similar role.
