This is a very exciting time for a client of mines planning team. Following the recent adoption of the Local Plan, the Borough has a number of major developments underway and is anticipating the imminent submission of many more major planning applications. 

If you are interested in enhancing your experience of managing applications for largescale residential, commercial, retail and leisure developments, then this role is for you. The Council is seeking an enthusiastic Planner to join the  Development Management team. You will have the skills and experience necessary to enhance the quality of developments in the Council, working as a case officer for a range of high profile planning applications.

If you feel this is the role for you, you should be a chartered member of the RTPI with previous experience managing major applications. You must have strong design skills, be an excellent communicator with the ability to independently write clear and concise reports and the ability to provide mentorship to junior officers and deputise for the Development Management Service Manager where necessary.

Above all, you must be able to demonstrate that they will make a positive difference to the Council.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post.

The successful candidate will require a full driving license to undertake site visits around the Borough. Officers are mainly based at home currently due to the pandemic and flexible working arrangements will be considered.
