The Greater Cambridge Shared Planning Service covering Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire is one of the most exciting and dynamic areas in the country to be a planner, with many strategic site developments at different stages and a new Local Plan to deliver.

The range of opportunities we have provides you with the chance to be at the centre, and shape how the service develops; meeting the challenges of delivering an extraordinary range of innovative and rewarding projects. In Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire we have nationally significant schemes. These range from: regeneration, to providing a new low carbon district on the edge of the city and a healthy new town at Northstowe.

Through to meeting the planning needs of Europe’s most important biotechnology cluster, and leading the first joint Local Plan in an area that has the fastest-growing city economy in the country.

A wonderful Place to work and explore

Few areas can match South Cambridgeshire, when it comes to growth. There are 23,500 new homes planned by 2021- and the new 9,500 -
home town of Northstowe on the drawing board too - we’re the fastest expanding district in the East of England.
