Senior Planning Officer

Our client based in Norfolk requires a Senior Town Planner to carry out a role within their Development Management Team. You will manage a varied caseload of applications which will cover county council developments such as schools/ fire services / small roads / mineral locations.

On occasion you will need to carry out site visits and you will be expected to undertake consultation exercises and produce detailed written report documents that clearly lay out how planning decisions have been arrived at. On a daily basis you will be dealing with planning enquiries from agents, applicants and the general public and you will be required to give accurate pre-application advice to prospective developers.

Recent work experience within a Local Authority setting is essential. Your knowledge of current UK planning legislation and guidelines will need to be fully up to date. You will need to have good communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders on a daily basis to convey complex, detailed information in a clear, concise format. You must be able to work well under pressure and have the ability to manage a large and varied caseload of applications.

The role will be offered until the end of January 2022 though it could be extended and the rate offered is up to £36 p/hr umbrella.

It will be a remote working role though you may be required to carry out site visits from time to time. However this will not be on a weekly basis and can be discussed with the hiring manager.
