If you are a fully qualified planner of chartered status (MRTPI) or equivalent or working towards, then this is an ideal opportunity for you to develop and grow.

The Council has recently adopted the new local plan and as Graduate Planning Officer you will assist with day to day operation of the Development Management team.

Duties are wide ranging and will include; carrying out site visits, surveys and studies; assisting in the preparation of reports and other strategies/plans produced by the team; involvement in public consultation events, including the reparation of consultation material and responding to enquiries from the public and other stakeholders; dealing with general planning enquiries at reception, by telephone and by letter/email, also dealing with and following up queries as they arise to include site history, pre-planning discussions and confirmation of compliance with S106 agreements and planning conditions.

You must have knowledge of Planning legislation and procedures, be able to work effectively as part of a team and have excellent communication and IT skills as well as being able to work under pressure.
