Directions Planning Consultancy Ltd. is looking to appoint a Chartered Town Planner to join our small, friendly team.
Established in 2010, and covering a broad geographical area across the north and east of England with offices in Harrogate and York, we are proud of our reputation for offering sound, straightforward, high-quality advice to a wide range of clients.
As a general planning practice, we can offer an opportunity to work with private individuals, housebuilders, commercial developers, parish councils, farmers, social housing providers and charities, providing advice on a variety of matters such as development management, local plans, enforcement, advertisement control, neighbourhood planning and appeals.
This is a great role for someone who enjoys diverse and interesting work. With such a broad spectrum of clients and cases, then the successful candidate must have strong problem-solving skills, be flexible in approach, and have perseverance and enthusiasm. You will also need excellent writing and communication skills.
Key responsibilities include:
- Appraise development potential
- Conduct research
- Draft and co-ordinate the submission of planning applications
- Collate information to discharge planning conditions
- Monitor progress and draft representations to local plan consultations
- Organise and attend public consultation events
- Draft planning policies and other policy documents
- Undertake site visits
