East Riding of Yorkshire Council is one of the country’s largest unitary authorities with a wealth of varied and interesting landscapes and habitats, including the Yorkshire Wolds (now being considered for an AONB), the Heritage Coast at Flamborough, and the long expansive East Yorkshire coastline ending at Spurn Point at the mouth of the Humber Estuary, internationally recognised for its nature conservation importance.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Landscape & Ecology Officer who will spend most of their time working in this varied and interesting landscape, assisting the Principal Ecology Officer in carrying out the statutory duties of the council in respect of the ecology and nature conservation considerations for new development proposals. You will also deal with applications of historic hedgerow removal and high hedges and be involved in assisting with policy development, including the proposed AONB designation.
This is a career grade post and progression up the salary scales will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
